Walmart releases exclusive Movie Travel Poster editions of multiple film collections

If you walk into your local Walmart, you might see familiar movie collections with brand new cover art. The chain of supercenters has unveiled an exclusive line of “Movie Travel Poster” covers that invite you to visit locations from the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play, Tremors, The Mummy, Jurassic World, Mortal Kombat, Final Destination, The Purge, Riddick, The Conjuring, It, and the Godzilla / Kong MonsterVerse. Images of the artwork that has been paired with these titles can be seen below.

All of the Movie Travel Poster titles are DVD releases, and according to the Walmart website they also come with a postcard.

The Vacation, Fast and Furious, Smokey and the Bandit, Wonder Woman, Back to the Future, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Batman, The Dark Knight, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Ted, American Pie, The Matrix, Dragonheart, and Fifty Shades franchises have also been given the Movie Travel Poster treatment, as well as the individual films The Wizard of Oz and The Goonies.

Some of these are going for really good prices. For example, The Wizard of Oz and The Goonies are just $5 each, while the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies are only $9.96. The four movie Batman and Matrix collections are the same price, as is the five film Final Destination set. The Smokey and the Bandit and Mummy trilogies are just $7.50.

I can’t say I like every single one of them, but that’s to be expected when you’re looking at thirty something. I do find some of these to be quite cool – not cool enough to double dip on movies I already own, but they’re nice to look at. For some movies I don’t own yet, these editions are enticing… Yes, I do still buy DVDs regularly.
