What did you think of…Thor: Ragnarok?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It's main event time! The third entry in Thor's solo series, THOR: RAGNAROK has finally arrived, bringing a fresh new take on the character from director Taikia Waititi (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, THE HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE) and the inclusion of Marvel's favorite green goliath, Hulk, who returns after an absence in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR in one of his most famous comic iterations, Planet Hulk. We also have the inclusion of old Thor comic favorites Hela (Cate Blanchett), Skurge (Karl Urban), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), as well as franchise favorites like Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) and even an appearance by the Sorcerer Supreme himself, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). With a lighter tone, shorter hair, retro fantasy feel and a playful, comedic stylings courtesy of Waititi, is this the Thor we've been waiting for or has the character jumped the shark?

Well, if fans and critics have anything to say about it, I'd say THOR: RAGNAROK is still worthy of our time. This weekend's box office proved that the film had the strength to win that battle and with a 93% certified fresh score on RT it's certainly won favor their as well. Our own Chris Bumbray had a lot of fun with the film, giving it 8/10 and saying that the film "…will probably rank highly in the Marvel canon for fans, while even those somewhat worn down by the many entries will find a lot of things to like about it."

And with that, now it's your turn! We want to hear what YOU thought of the film! Naturally, we'd prefer you to comment only if you've seen the film as that's the point here, but do what feels good. Just don't get mad if you get trounced for trolling or posting blatant spoilers in headlines. Healthy debate, genuine thoughts, and respectful interactions is all we ask. So, is this THOR sequel worthy or unworthy?

Rotten Tomatoes: 265 reviews, certified fresh: 93%
