I have a buddy who to this day still
can’t watch the scene from
PET SEMATARY where Aunt Zelda freaks out. Well the lady
responsible for bringing that scene to the big screen, Mary Lambert, has once
again returned with another delve into the macabre with her latest flick THE
ATTIC.
The film is about a girl who is
haunted by visions of a ghost that may be her twin sister. She lives in a
dysfunctional household and slowly becomes more paranoid. Eventually she begins
to suspect her parents of practicing evil forms of Wicca in some sort of attempt
to resurrect her sister. She eventually befriends a kind detective, and together
the two delve deeper into the enigma that surrounds her.
The trailer, which can be seen
here,
looks sort of B movie-ish, but still really cool. Also I’m not sure if it’s an
intended effect (I really hope so) or just my computer but the dialogue cannot
be heard and adds an element of mystery to the trailer.
So check it out, and if anyone else was freaked out by Aunt Zelda as a child, or
would like to berate my buddy for being scared, shoot out some bullets below and
I’ll email all the insults to him. Peace out!
