Yes Man poster

Can Jim Carrey get “the funny” back? I pondered this recently when I inadvertently watched some of THE NUMBER 23 and FUN WITH DICK AND JANE while channel-flipping, which caused blood to seep from my face. I’m okay now (and I still love LEMONY SNICKET).

Carrey tries a return to his spastic goofball mass appeal with YES MAN, in which he plays “Carl Allen, a man who signs up for a self-help program based on one simple principle: say yes to everything…and anything. At first, unleashing the power of “yes” transforms Carl’s life in amazing and unexpected ways, but he soon discovers that opening up his life to endless possibilities can have its drawbacks.”

Here’s the teaser poster for the Warner Bros. movie, with Carrey either throwing up a big ol’ “Y” or expecting crucifixion — but the movie opens at Christmas time, so that would be in bad taste. Then again, so was his GRINCH.
