Iconic horror director John Carpenter has, for the last seven years, retreated from feature film directing and has been quite content to sit back and enjoy the sweet smell of fresh paychecks for insipid remakes of his classic films but it seems he’s feeling the directing bug once again as, according to Shock ‘Till You Drop, he’s currently casting a film titled L.A. GOTHIC. STYD describes the film’s plot as such: “Five interwoven stories of high-octane horror centering on a vengeful ex-priest’s efforts to protect his teenage daughter from the supernatural evils of L.A.’s dark side.” Oooh, sounds tasty. Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, who recently teamed up with Dario Argento on GIALLO, wrote the script with production expected to begin in March.
