Del Toro talks plans

We know that happy horror helmer Guillermo del Toro will be occupied for the next few years bringing diminutive hairy men to life, but it’s nice to know he’s viewing his post-HOBBIT future with a long telescope.

Wired recently caught up to the director to ask him about co-writing the vampire novel “The Strain” and get a roundup of all his eventual projects after leaving Middle Earth.

While reticent on the topic of halflings, del Toro briefly discusses plans to adapt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse Five” (“He threads the profane and irreverent with the profound and soul-searing“), and a desire to see or make a tech breakthrough for new tales (“In the next 10 years, we’re going to see all the forms of entertainment—film, television, video, games, and print—melding into a single-platform ‘story engine.'”)

The article also runs through the likelihood of del Toro’s many intended projects becoming reality, from FRANKENSTEIN to DROOD to AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS to another HELLBOY. Check it out HERE.
