Confirmed! HBO already renewing “True Blood” for a fifth season

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Like we didn’t see this coming… According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog HBO and Alan Ball have indeed reached a deal to renew the hit vampire drama “True Blood” for a fifth season.

Anyone could’ve guessed that would happen. What I really want to know is if Season 5 will be the last for Sookie, Bill and the rest of Bon Temps. Alan Ball had previously said how he’s getting bored with the series and that the fifth season, if there was one, could potentially be the last. Now unfortunately Season 5’s renewal doesn’t offer up any information as to whether it will be the last or not, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

“True Blood” Season 5, which will span 12 new episodes, will go into production later this year with a 2012 premiere set.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, “True Blood” lives for yet another season. I haven’t watched the show since the middle of Season 2 so I’ll have to take your word for it that the show still rocks. Hopefully that sentiment keeps on rolling through to Season 5.
