Could this be what Legendary’s rebooted Godzilla is going to look like?!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Alright, so we know that Legendary Pictures are planning on rebooting the age-old monster GODZILLA, right? Right. But what we don’t know is where this thing currently sits in regards to production. I mean since April we’ve only gotten two updates on the damned thing, with the last one coming back in July tapping David Goyer with the task of penning this shite.

Now today’s update is a major one in regards to the film, but it’s also to be taken with a gigantic grain of salt. You see the site InfamousKidd is claiming they’ve got a look at what Legendary’s epic monster will look like in this long-awaited reboot. I say claiming because it was last year we thought we had a look at Legendary’s ‘Godzilla’ via some early teaser art for the film, but that was debunked. Will this look be put to rest as well? Time will tell of course.

The site claims they’ve heard from a source within production that director Gareth Edwards and Legendary are planning on basing the design for this new GODZILLA on a sculpt creature/fantasy sculptor Hector A. Arce did on the creature a long time ago. Apparently that teaser art I mentioned earlier was also based on Arce’s work… so perhaps there’s something here that’ll catch? While a few more tweaks and twists are expected, apparently the final product won’t look very different from the shot you see below. So go ahead and take that in.

I want to remind everyone to take this news lightly, as it’s not even close to being confirmed. Though another piece of news InfamousKidd is throwing our way is something that might be worth getting excited about… It seems the site also heard that Edwards and company are opting for a man in a rubber suit and animatronic head this go-around instead of a CGI mess! Seriously? That’d be pretty awesome, no? They say the only CGI that’ll be used on the monster will be post-production touch-ups.

Now we’ll of course be keeping an eye out for any GODZILLA news, preferably some that either confirm or deny these new updates. As soon as any rumblings come our way we’ll be sure to pass them right along to all of you.
