Cowboys & Aliens producer bringing graphic novel Alien At Large! to film

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Practical Pictures and Platinum Studios are teaming up to develop Platinum’s graphic novel ALIEN AT LARGE! into a feature film. Platinum CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg is a producer on the upcoming COWBOYS & ALIENS, while Practical Pictures produced FINAL DESTINATION 5, as well as the previous two entries in the series.

ALIEN AT LARGE, one of Platinum’s some 5000 properties, seems to be a pretty obscure one. Published in 2008, it was created and written by Bob Keenan, illustrated by Rich Larson and colored by Stu Chaifetz. If you’re interested, you can read the first 40 pages of it here.

I’m not familiar with the source material, so I’m not sure how fitting it is to cover here on AITH. The alien involvement certainly gives it a sci-fi edge, but the synopsis below makes it sound more like a comedy. We’ll see how it develops.

Alien Ambassador Boxavo Tan means well, but he’s dumb as a post. He has an uncanny ability to turn every situation into a catastrophe. Once he’s set on a course of action, the only thing his handlers can do is clean up his mess.
