Date reveleaed for Walking Dead Season 1 DVD & Producer talks ‘fired’ writers

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Well folks I just finished watching the finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and I’ve got to say… I’m a tad disappointed. It just seemed like it wasn’t much of a finale, ya know? I was expecting a bigger bang so to speak. Don’t get me wrong, I know this show is more about these characters rather than the zombies and I did dig the finale but I guess I was just expecting… more. But alas, the season is over and now we’ve got nearly a year to wait before we get treated to “The Walking Dead” again.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the first season again! We just told you about Anchor Bay getting ready to pimp this one out on DVD and Blu-ray and here we are today with that release date! According to the guys over at Amazon this bad boy will hit DVD shelves everywhere on March 8, 2011! Sure we’ve got a few months to wait but I’d bet good money it’ll be worth it!

But that’s not all the “Walking Dead” news we’ve got for you today. Remember how Frank Darabont reportedly fired his entire writing staff? Well “Walking Dead” executive producer Gale Anne Hurd recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and said that rumor was completely false. So Darabont didn’t fire his writing staff. Cool. Apparently the deal is some of the writers have other projects that are more of a priority for them, which is understandable. Hurd also mentions how the entire cast is locked up for multiple seasons. Nice!

So there you have it folks. “The Walking Dead” is done for now but I’ve gone ahead and left you with some juicy updates to help ease the pain. Be sure to keep it here for anything and everything “Walking Dead” and don’t forget to pre-order “The Walking Dead” on BLU-RAY or DVD now!
