Horror @ The Oscars: Rise/Planet of the Apes & Girl/Dragon Tattoo!!

Well ladies and gents it’s that time of the year again – Oscar season! With the annual Academy Awards set to kick off in just over a month the Academy did us all a solid by announcing this year’s nominees yesterday. The only problem is our beloved genre got snubbed hard.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there was a lot of genre stuff that should’ve been there… but only one nomination for DRIVE? That’s just absurd… So what did get nominated? Only five genre flicks this year: DRIVE, REAL STEEL, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Peep the categories:
