Jason Clarke will take a stand in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Jason Clarke (above) is quickly making a name for himself in the business as he has just come off an impressive performance in ZERO DARK THIRTY. Clarke is now set to star in 20th Century Fox’s DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES with his role still tightly underwraps. LET ME IN director Matt Reeves will helm the project with no word on what the film will actually be about. Things have been very hush hush for the film thus far but accruing to THR, the film will be set 15 years after the events of 2011’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which starred James Franco. They also say that:

One focus is on the human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco. Another aspect of the story is the struggle of intelligent ape Caesar, played by a returning Andy Serkis, to maintain dominance over his kingdom.

Nice to hear Serkis will return as well. Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are producing the movie, which is working off a script by Mark Bomback. Right now APES is targeted for a spring shoot and a May 23, 2014 release date. So we got some time to really let this one settle in!
