John Gulager's "outlandish" Piranha 3DD wraps production in North Carolina

May. 30, 2011by: Alex DiVincenzo

Production officially wrapped on PIRANHA 3DD this past Friday, May 27, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Star News published a nice piece about executive producer Joel Soisson (above) returning to the location 25 years after filming TRICK OR TREAT in the same city. Soisson has this to say about the impending follow-up:

"This one is so outlandish in places. I hope it works because it really pushes all the boundaries slightly pushed in the first one."

We'll find out if it works when Dimension Films releases it in theaters on November 23. The sequel to last year's PIRANHA 3D is directed by John Gulager and written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. The cast includes Danielle Panabaker (below), Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff.

There's something in the water... again. And this time no one is safe from the flesh eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of the best summer attraction, The Big Wet Water Park.

Extra Tidbit: Are you excited for this sequel or what?

am i excited?

no. the first movie was a marginally enjoyable film with no real redeeming qualities and had no need for a sequel. gulager lost all credibility after the first (good) 'feast' by making two HORRIBLE sequels. no desire to see this.
