Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos recently made his English language debut with THE LOBSTER, a film that stars Colin Farrell and is set in a world where people are turned into animals if they're not able to find a romantic partner in a timely manner.

Lanthimos and Farrell will be re-teaming on the director's next project, THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER, and for this one the pair are going from the absurd to the horrific. Described as a "psychological revenge thriller with a hint of the supernatural", THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER has been written by Lanthimos and his co-writer on THE LOBSTER Efthimis Fillipou.

Farrell will be playing

a successful surgeon who attempts to integrate a teenager into his family, but when the teen’s actions grow increasingly sinister, the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice.

He will be joined in the cast by Nicole Kidman, who will be playing his wife.

A24 has the U.S. distribution rights to the film, which is expected to enter production in August.
