Miguel Ferrer is returning to Twin Peaks

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I haven't watched the two existing seasons of the David Lynch television series Twin Peaks, but I am familiar enough with the works of actor Miguel Ferrer to know that the guy is awesome, so I have a feeling that this is some great news:

Ferrer is set to reprise the role of FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield in Showtime's upcoming Twin Peaks revival. Rosenfield appeared in eight episodes during the series' initial 1990 to '91 run.

Also rumored to be returning to Twin Peaks more than twenty years later are David Patrick Kelly as the character Jerry Horne and Richard Beymer as his brother Benjamin.

Ferrer, Kelly, and Beymer would be joining fellow returning cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Dana Ashbrook, and Machen Amick. New additions include Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Balthazar Getty, Robert Knepper, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Naomi Watts and Robert Forster have been rumored as well.

Originally announced for 2016, the new season of Twin Peaks is now expected to premiere on Showtime in 2017. Lynch is directing every single episode and wrote all of them with series co-creator Mark Frost.

Not only will the extra wait be a benefit to Lynch as he assembles the episodes, it will also be a benefit to me. It gives me more time to catch up on this show before the new episodes start airing.
