Bad news for those of you who had made dinner reservations with NBC's "Hannibal". It has been revealed that the macabre series won't be returning to television sets until this summer. Certainly later than usual for the cannibalistic show: Season One premiered in April of 2013, while Season Two opened wide February 2014.
NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt confirmed the seasonal change to EW:
“It’s a show we love, it’s critically acclaimed, we love it... And we also love summer. We have exciting plans for summer.”
A bit of a bummer that we have to wait longer, but look at it this way: it's a miracle this graphically violent series is still even on network TV. And, as EW notes, there's a chance the series - which has never seen spectacular ratings - will perform better than usual during the summer months.
We'll let you know when "Hannibal" S3 grabs an official premiere date.
