Netflix renews Lost in Space

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Truth be told right out front here, I have not watched so much as a single episode of Netflix's recent reboot of the classic series LOST IN SPACE. I've been meaning to for a while now, especially considering my friends and family all seem to have watched it by this point (though I have no idea when they found the time…). I guess I should get to it as it seems like Netflix just announced season 2!

Yes, over on Twitter today the official LOST IN SPACE account sent out a special video message confirming the season 2 renewal, and you can peep it with your very own eyeballs below. There is currently no word on if the first season's cast will return including Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson, Max Jenkins as Will Robinson, Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson, Toby Stephens as John Robinson, or Parker Posey as Dr. Smith.

For those who might not know, LOST IN SPACE:

is a Netflix Original dramatic and modern reimagining of the classic 1960’s science fiction series. Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination. Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. And the roguish, but inadvertently charming Don West (Ignacio Serricchio) is a highly-skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.

Again, I have not seen one episode of the first season, but again, I plan to get on that as soon as possible. Have you been watching the series and do you think it's something a rabid horror fan might enjoy, if for no other reason that the badass-looking robot in the trailers? Let me know!

Watch season one RIGHT HERE.
