Platinum Dunes goes time-travelng with Almanac

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The Platinum Dunes boys are embarking on an original quest with ALMANAC, which apparently brings a new spin on the found-footage genre.

Written by Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan and set to be directed by Dean Israelite, the film is being called a mockumentary angle centered around time travel. No word on just how far back in time we go, but one can dream we’ll see some shaky-cam dinosaurs! (Even though that didn’t work out so well with AREA 407 or THE DINOSAUR PROJECT.)

Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce alongside Bay, while Paramount will distribute the completed film. Casting (for complete unknowns) is underway. Meanwhile, Platinum Dunes has THE PURGE due out in May and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES hitting theaters next year.
