Rathbone’s worst fear

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

We got word today on yet another movie based off a story by the great Clive Barker. Barker obviously has a brilliant mind when it comes to the genre, being behind too many twisted flicks to name. Well the story I’m talking about today is DREAD.

Before I get into what DREAD is, let me give you all the news. Jackson Rathbone (right), who you can all see later this year in TWILIGHT, has just signed to star in the film. Now DREAD is about Quaid. He’s a student of philosophy and is obsessed by his own nightmare of an ax-murdering clown…so he concocts a series of experiments to observe firsthand how other people react to the things that most horrify them. But while Quaid slowly unpeels the psyches of his imprisoned and tortured captives like a reeking onion, his own dread waits, just beyond his control.

Ax murdering clowns and diving into people’s worst fears… that’s awesome! I’m all for this! Dare I say this might be Barker’s best adaptation yet? I’m definately hoping for it.

DREAD comes from writer/director Anthony DiBlasi with Matador Pictures and Midnight Picture Show behind this one. Now filming is set to start next month in London, so we’ll keep you updated on any other DREAD news we hear.
