We knew it was coming, Transformers 4 will hit us in 2014 with Michael Bay

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

We’ve been hearing the rumors about TRANSFORMERS 4 for a while now; well it seems that yes indeed the film will be happening! And no I don’t mean that someone confirmed BATTLESHIP as being that sequel, although it would probably make sense!

Paramount confirmed that TRANSFORMERS 4 is going ahead, with Michael Bay back in the director’s chair. They will not be doing back-to-back sequels, however Bay is off to do his passion project PAIN AND GAIN as part of a 2-picture deal with the studio. PAIN AND GAIN will start production in April with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson starring, the pair have apparently taken pay cuts as the budget for this film is only $25 million.

As for TRANSFORMERS 4, the film already has a release date for June 29th 2014, with Bay looking to meet with executive producer Steven Spielberg to work out some ideas and hire a writer. The next instalment “will bring audiences a new take on the Transformers franchise” AKA a reboot of sorts.

Don’t expect to see the same people returning then, which could be good news for a lot of people. But let’s hope the writing of the characters is better, however I have basically no interest in any more TRANSFORMERS films right now, and I honestly don’t see why they need to reboot it either. Perhaps having the same actual Transformers in it, but placing them in a different time with different characters and situations might work? I just don’t know, I guess we shall hear more on it once progress it made.
