Millar talks Wanted 2

Mark Millar has been talking about the proposed sequel to this year’s blockbuster WANTED. Plans were put into motion to make another movie as soon as the movie broke the $50 million mark, and Millar was of course happy to oblige:

“What I will be doing is providing them with a very small amount of stuff for a story, and that will be used as a basic story that they can build from. It will be a small outline that can possibly be picked apart and not used – but it will be something exclusively for the second film, and no one will ever really see it…. It will be some of the stuff that we didn’t utilize from the first book for the movie – like chapters three and four – there will be some stuff from that, so in the loosest sense it will be based on the book, but only very little,”

I guess if you enjoyed the first movie this will mean something to you but I absolutely hated that thing. I’ll be avoiding the sequel like I avoid spoof movies or back alley rape. Fortunately Angelina Jolie was in the first film so this story does have a happy ending after all. I knew I could do better than to go out with ‘back alley rape’.
