Arnold Schwarzenegger to play in Black Sands

Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in BLACK SANDS, a romantic period drama set in Hawaii during the British occupation.

Hah, just kidding folks- it’s an action film. Casting against type! This will be his next project after finishing up THE EXPENDABLES 2 and then shooting Kim Jee-Woon’s THE LAST STAND. Schwarzenegger is fully back in movie making mode.

The former governor will play a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest. The tone is MAN ON FIRE meets HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER.

The script will be written by Skip Woods, who recently finished writing A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD for Fox.

BLACK SANDS is looking to start production in April 2012.
