Check out John Carter when he’s still of Earth in this new 10-minute clip

Now that the majority of critics have seen it, word is that JOHN CARTER is a good film and not the disaster many in the entertainment media thought it would be. Yay! Unfortunately, Disney still seems to have no clue on how to effectively market this thing.

Below we have a 10-minute clip taken from the beginning of the film, and it’s one that primarily focuses on John Carter’s time here on Earth as a Civil War solider. It’s not a bad clip by any means, but it’s an odd one to choose to sell moviegoers on since it’s oddly generic and not really representative of the film as a whole. It also highlights one of the problems I know a lot of people have had with the picture, and that’s Taylor Kitsch, who feels miscast in the role of John Carter. From what you’ve seen thus far, would you agree or not? Check out the clip and chime in below.

JOHN CARTER opens this weekend.

Synopsis: From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter” – a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
