Disney didn't have much to say about the next PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie during their panel the other day, but they did present a minute and a half video from Captain Jack Sparrow himself (aka Johnny Depp) drunk and spouting off about his next big adventure chasing the Fountain of Youth, which according to him will involved "zombies, cutthroats, mermaids...and Penelope Cruz"! That's right, the wasted Captain breaks the 4th wall and mentions the lovely new addition to the series by her real name. Oh you kooky Captain! He then mentions something about going out for a Bloody Mary and it suddenly reminds me why this series has such a fun center: Johnny Depp. Check the video out for yourself below.

I hope the new director keeps Badelt or Zimmer to do the music for this movie as well, the theme for Jack Sparrow is so much a part of the character as Depp's great performance.

Most effective trailer ever.
You can have fantastic visual effects, you can have outrageous action scenes, but you know everyone's going to see it just for Jack Sparrow. Maybe they should extend that video to 2 hours or so. Captain Jack talking to the camera the whole time= fun times had by all. Bloody Marys all around!

Thrilled for a 4th!
I love Sparrow and I'm glad to see him in focus again. The two sequels were all about Turner/Swan which got annoying at times.

Sorry but 2 and 3 kinda sucked
The first one was really fun! Then 2 got too heavily involved with Orlando Bloom, which we don't care about, as well as "back story" with Jack Sparrow. The 2nd one was still decent, yet LONG. The 3rd one was just fucking atrocious and long, and the Kraken (or lack there of) was pointless. Oh look the Kraken is dead.....ok

Dude, Orlando Bloom isn't going to be in this one. Everything you just complained about, in fact, isn't going to be in this one. That's like saying you won't watch Batman Begins because of George Clooney.

I think it was OK they didn't show Kraken again destroying ships on third. Kraken was amazing in 2nd one but more of it would have become repetitive. It was an intelligent choice.

I don't know what movie you seen but after not caring much for part one, I had to be dragged to part 2 and was pleasantly surprised. It's the most fun and still my favorite.

The Kraken part in the third lasted like a minute. What is wrong with showing the audience the Kraken is dead and that is why it is not destroying ships?

Depp was born to play this role, and with all the money that this franchise has and will make, he doesn't have to do another movie ever again if he chooses not to. Of course he will because he's awesome.

"as long as they don't venture away from his character this series will redeem itself"...... you on crack? they didn't venture away in 2 and 3 and the series went to hell. They need some serious reworking to correct the wrong doings done to this series with the horrible sequels.

Jack Sparrow showed up a half hour into the third movie, and Elizabeth Swan wound up being the chosen one in the end, with the rousing speech, leading the pirates into battle. In the second one we got more of a love square between Norrington, Sparrow, Swan and Turner and a significant portion of the movie focused on Davey Jones. This needs to be an Indiana Jones type series with Jack Sparrow ...

PotC would have never been the same without Depp and Rush I honestly had no emotion when I found out bloom and Knightly wernt returning and im the kinda person who is like you dont have the orginal characters then screw that movie. Depp is probally my favorite actor of all time and Barbossa is hands down the best Character of the whole series. Also to respond to the zombies and mermaids POTC...

technically they weren't zombies, as they weren't undead. but, yeah i've enjoyed all potc movies thus far, and i don't think this one's going to disappoint. can't wait
