News today is that Richard Dreyfuss is in final negotiations to play Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone’s George Bush biopic, W. Josh Brolin (President Bush), Thandie Newton (Condoleezza Rice) and Elizabeth Banks (Laura Bush) have already been cast.
I was going to pass my own judgement on this but our own Mike Sampson said he thought it was an “odd choice – Dreyfuss can be so effeminate and Cheney is so gruff and curmudgeonly”. And not only does that save me coming up with something witty and/or piercing, but it’s also probably the only time I’ll ever use the word curmudgeonly. Everyone in my life is wonderful. I guess that’s how it goes when you live life with a devil may care attitude and dashing good looks.
