Eva Green eyes Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

The beautiful and talented Eva Green might be looking to re-team with her DARK SHADOWS director Tim Burton for his upcoming children's book adaptation, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN. Her role would presumably be that of the Miss Peregrine herself. The intriguing book is described as follows:

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here—one of whom was his own grandfather—were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Green has had a busy year already having starred in 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE (watch a particularly great scene here), and can next be seen playing the title role in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR which has a great new red band trailer here. You can also watch her on TV on the great Penny Dreadful which wrapped up its first season last month. Eva is a distracting beauty, that's for sure, but there is no doubt that she always delivers great performances as well. In my opinion, she carried RISE OF AN EMPIRE as Artemisia and actually made it watchable; so any casting news with Green is good news.

Filming on MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN is slated to begin February 2015.
