First official poster for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight

07.30.2014

A few days ago at SDCC Quentin Tarantino announced plans to film his THE HATEFUL EIGHT in 2015, and the first official poster for the movie (and not the live reading) has already been released online. Well, it first appeared in a magazine (it's a full-page ad from next week's issue of Empire) before surfacing online, but still.

Although the 2015 in the corner is probably referring to the production start date for Quentin Tarantino's new movie, some think THE HATEFUL EIGHT might also be hitting theaters next year as well. Based on what I know about the script for THE HATEFUL EIGHT, it'll be a smaller film than DJANGO UNCHAINED, so there's a chance it could be filmed and then released in the same year.

Still no word on who will be starring alongside Kurt Russell in THE HATEFUL EIGHT, but it's very likely more than a few of the other actors from the live reading will be reprising their roles for the movie. I'm just glad Quentin Tarantino decided to move forward with the western and not let it die just because the script was leaked.

Quentin Tarantino will start filming THE HATEFUL EIGHT sometime in early 2015.

Hopefully, that is Seth MacFarlane's character from a Million Ways to Die in the West being smeared on the ground.

If you look at it just right, kinda looks like a lightsaber.

Um, the Eighth Film by Quentin Tarantino?

Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained.

In this interview, BEFORE the release and completion of Django Unchained, Tarantino states "I've made seven."

The Hateful Eight is definitely his 9th film, unless he changed his mind and is now counting both Kill Bills as one entity (as it was originally intended). ">

I really hope those six horses are part of the Hateful Eight.

Seeing as how half the film takes place in that stage coach, chances are the horses will be seen here and there.

Holy One Sheet

Looks good, but anyone who's read the script can tell you, it's kinda boring.
I was completely fine with Q moving onto something else. That being said, I will still be there opening day.

He re wrote a 2nd and 3rd draft. If you read QT's screen plays, you know he changes shit constantly between drafts, and he changes shit on the fly too. It's basically reservoir dogs in the West.

If he has preproduction rolling along now, it's possible he could have Hateful by Christmas 2015, I seem to remember Django having a breakneck production schedule and if this is a smaller picture, anything's possible. I like to see him attempt science fiction, something high concept....

Forget the image, how about the return to "Super CinemaScope"!

A little surprised that no one here mentioned the "Presented in Super CinemaScope" at the bottom of the poster. The return of filming in "Super CinemaScope", now that is…...awesome!

Nice, little effective teaser of a poster.

After he is done with his Western themed trilogy, I would love to see him tackle the Gangster genre and have it take place anywhere from the 1920's to 1960's. You imagine the cast and dialogue he could write for something as cool as that.

Nice poster!

As with every Tarantino film, I'm really looking forward to this. I havent read the online script and know next to nothing about the plot. I must say though, after The Hateful Eight I'd like him to return to films set in the modern era.

Looks like the kind of minimalist poster that would've turned up in the 1960s or 70s with Lee Van Cleef's face in the background.
