Gone, Baby, poster

07.18.2007
Now this is a project I'm really looking forward to. I think Ben Affleck (or 'the Fleck') is bananas and I've thought the same about his little brother Casey ever since he told Minnie Driver that his boy is 'wicked smaht' back in GOOD WILL HUNTING. Kevin Smith gave this flick a glowing (although perhaps biasd) review a little while ago, and since then everything I've seen has looked gravy. The film follows two young detectives (played by Casey Affleck and the delightful Michelle Monaghan) who are hired to take a look at the mysterious disappearance of a little girl. Ultimately, the pair end up risking their relationship, their sanity and even their lives to find her. Sounds pretty cool to me. What's cooler? The film will also star Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris.

It's interesting that the poster doesn't feature the Fleck anywhere, really, instead focusing on the fact that the film was based on the novel by the author of MYSTIC RIVER. Oh well. You know you can't go wrong with a dude holding a gun with his back to us. It's just always cool.
Extra Tidbit: Was anyone else's favourite part of OCEAN'S THIRTEEN, when Affleck caused the Mexican workers to riot?

Huh?

Why is the Kevin Smith 'review' even getting mentioned? Obviously beyond obviously you cannot trust it. This is like Sam Raimi writing a glowing review of a Bruce Campbell film. It's a given that he's going to write a positive review. It is, essentially, non-news.

Jaybro7...

What are you talking about? Thoo didn't mean a picture of the director, he meant his name (like, "Directed by Ben Affleck").

I like the poster...it reflects the mood of the novel well and looks much better than the trailer.

I like Casey in pretty much everything he's done, except I had trouble understanding him in the Last Kiss. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this movie even though I doubt there will be a Kevin Smith cameo.

looks great, cant wait!

Why would the poster feature a picture of the director?? I'm glad they DIDN'T do that. How cheap of a marketing scheme would that be? I'd feel bad for Casey that his big brother is taking all the fun.

Agreed

Casey starting the labor riot was funny stuff, as was Scott Caan coming down to shape him up and then joining in.

As far as Gone, Baby Gone, sounds interesting. I think Ben got burnt by the Bennifer thing too hard... sure he's not Anthony Hopkins or Morgan Freeman, but he dropped clean off the face of the earth. It did give him time to start a family though.
