Criterion Collection

This is what one would call "a weekend killer." Hulu has the complete (or at least most, there's a couple I couldn't find) Criterion Collection up on its site for the weekend. Every decade since the 1920s is represented including classics like SEVEN SAMURAI, THE GREAT DICTATOR, ERASERHEAD, and CRONOS. Weirdly enough I couldn't find any Wes Anderson films, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, or WITHNAIL & I, but there are still plenty to choose from.

This is a great opportunity to check out a film that you've been meaning to see but haven't had the chance. Take a browse; I'm sure there's something that will catch your eye. Here's a complete list of movies that have been released as Criterion Editions, but once again not every single one is going to be up on Hulu.

Seriously, take this chance to revisit some classics or discover something new. It'll certainly be more fun than being dragged to see SAFE HAVEN. That's a guarantee.

I may be mistaken, but I would say John Woo's "The Killer" which I am almost certain is in the Criterion collection, but I may be wrong.

I'm not sure I have a favorite Criterion. I have watched and enjoyed particularly the work of Akira Kurosawa, Jean-Pierre Melville, Rififi, and Withnail and I. Those are just some of the ones that come to mind though.

My Favorite Criterion?

That's a tough one. Do you base it on the film itself or do you judge by the extras or do you include the extras with your favorite film. I'll just list the ones I watch the most: FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, THE SEVEN SAMURAI, RUSHMORE, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, THE THIRD MAN and IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE.
