With a franchise as massively popular as STAR WARS, it's no surprise that there are countless people in the world who would give up their first born for the chance to appear in one of the movies, and, as some of those fans are in positions of power, or are actors themselves, they actually have the chance to make those dreams a reality. STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS featured several celebrity cameos, notably Daniel Craig as the stormtrooper who Rey (Daisy Ridley) successfully used a Jedi mind-trick upon, and it seems that STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI may contain some noteworthy cameos as well.

After Princes William and Harry visited the set of STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI over a year ago, it was rumoured that they were suited up as stormtroopers in order to make a cameo appearance in the film, with the Daily Mail saying at the time that they royal pair "filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base. The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry." Whether or not the scene description is accurate, John Boyega spoke with BBC Radio 4 today and confirmed that the Princes did in fact film a cameo, although he joked that the scene may have wound up on the cutting room floor.

I think they took that scene out. I’ve had enough with those Prince William secrets man, because I swear—there was images or whatever online. They came on set, they were there, man. Tom Hardy was there too, man, I’ve said it! I'm sick of hiding this! … Someone leaked it or something, and then there was an image of some sort, and I was like ‘Oh damn!’ Every time I get asked I don’t know how to dodge it. Yeah, they were on set.

It was also rumoured last year that Tom Hardy would be appearing as a First Order stormtrooper who recognizes Finn (John Boyega) while he's on a secret mission for the Resistance, mistakenly believing that he's still a member of the First Order and slapping him on the ass to congratulate Finn on his "promotion." Hardy addressed the rumours earlier this year, but neither confirmed nor denied that he would be appearing. Thanks to John Boyega, we'll know to be on the lookout for a Tom Hardy-sized stormtrooper in THE LAST JEDI.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
