Kong: Skull Island TV spot shows off tons (maybe too much) new footage

I love me some KING KONG. I loved the original '33 version, I loved Peter Jackson's 2005 version, and even liked some of the stuff in the '70s version. Hell, I don't even hate the cash-in SON OF KONG sequel! So I'm definitely down for KONG: SKULL ISLAND, unnecessary as it is. And if it means a showdown between him and Godzilla down the line? More power to it!

That's all to say, there's a new TV spot for KONG that shows off tons of new footage. Let's have a look, shall we?

Not going to lie, I wish some of these things weren't spoiled for me (like the nuclear test reveal or some of the other monsters), but this definitely gets me more excited for the film. Especially since it looks like Samuel L. Jackson is going to go full-crazy mode in it.

But what do you Schmoes think? Cool-looking remake, or unnecessary cash-grab garbage? Sound off below!

Either way, KONG SKULL: ISLAND will beat some monster ass March 10th, 2017.

I'm optimistic for it. I've only seen two Kong movies and both were set in around the 1920/30's. So seeing it take place in the 1970's seems like a cool idea to mix things up. And to be honest, any remake is going to be unnecessary. But at least with Kong it has potential to entertain with the newer technology being developed.

Still hoping....

I'm not sure if this is going to work or not, but I'm hopeful. I'm skipping this trailer because I've seen enough of the movie to make up my mind and don't want any more spoiled. Not sure I like the main threat monsters (they seem like a straight ripoff of the Riddick movies), but at least they're going with something different than a T-Rex this time. I'll be interested to see how they plan to make the Godzilla fight happen, since this version of Kong is still well smaller than his opponent.

If the movie is him coming up to Godzilla's waist, it's going to kind of suck.
