LaBeouf, Grisham team

Dec. 2, 2008by: Daniel Barna

Remember way back when, when it seemed like every other film was based on a John Grisham movie? So do I. Well lately it seems dude has fallen somewhat off of Hollywood's radar. But for all you JG fans out there, fear not. His latest book--and his first legal thriller since 2005's "The Broker"--entitled THE ASSOCIATE, is being made into a feature film that will star none other than Megan Fox's movie boyfriend Shia LaBeouf.

And the book hasn't even been released yet.

LaBeouf will play a student who's about to graduate from Yale Law School when he's manipulated into accepting a job at a prestige law firm and given privileged information about a multibillion-dollar lawsuit. Sounds intriguing. I guess one would say this plot is full of intrigue. Which in turn makes me intrigued. K, enough.

Another John Grisham movie about a young lawyer accepted into a prestigious law firm and finding out that they are involved in something illegal? Wow, we haven't seen that before...

Hurray! John Grisham novels, traditionally, are turned in very good (even great) films that are ignored by the public and fall off the radar almost immediately. I don't understand this, because a number of them have been amazing films. Does no one remember the Francis Ford Coppola directed 'Rainmaker'? Amazing film! 'Runaway Jury' was also excellant, and 'The Firm' and 'The Client' were both solid. I'm glad to hear Hollywood hasn't given up on him.
