Lee Pace joins Ben Foster in Stephen Frears' Untitled Lance Armstrong biopic

Since there is quite a bit of love for Lee Pace here I thought you might want to hear what film he recently signed on to.

It's not a fantasy or superhero film but instead a biopic on Lance Armstrong. The yet untitled flick from director Stephen Frears stars Foster in the leading role of the disgraced cyclist, and will follow his "rise to fame and fall from grace, including his Tour de France championships and battle with cancer. Walsh was among the integral figures who helped expose doping within professional cycling."

Pace has boarded though his role is under wraps.

The material is based on Walsh’s book “Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.” Chris O'Dowd is set to play Walsh. Jesse Plemons (BREAKING BAD) and Guillaume Canet (BLOOD TIES) will co-star.

When this movie was announced I thought I would have no interest but with the talent they have put together I am really excited. Frears is an interesting choice to start with and Ben Foster is a criminally underrated actor that has a great likeness to Armstrong. Add to that Pace, O'Dowd and Plemmons and you may have something really special. I would love for this movie to be huge and give a bump up the Hollywood food chain for Foster, Plemmons, Pace and O'Dowd but I think Armstrong is such

I would love for this movie to be huge and give a bump up the Hollywood food chain for Foster, Plemmons, Pace and O'Dowd but I think Armstrong is such a divisive person that I don't know if it will be a big hit at the box office but could garner a few award nominations, I particularly could see Foster getting some Best Actor consideration. I think for this movie to really pack a punch and get some love come awards season it is going to need to fairly balance his triumphs with the fact that he cheated to attain them, if they do a sugar coated, "Armstrong is a Saint", "42" style film this will likely be a disappointment at both the box office and critically.

Even though I don't really care about a Lance Armstrong film, the film does have a terrific cast with Foster, Pace, and O'Dowd.
