Let Me In to open Fantastic Fest, screen at Toronto Film Festival

LET ME IN, the Matt Reeves directed remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, pretty much wowed a skeptical Hall H crowd at Comic-Con and now it has its sights set on the audiences in Austin and Toronto. It was announced today that in addition to joining the ranks of the “Special Presentation” films at TIFF, LET ME IN would also serve as the opening night film for Fantastic Fest.

The film will screen at TIFF first, where it is included among other Special Presentations like Danny Boyle’s 127 HOURS, Will Ferrell’s EVERYTHING MUST GO and Clint Eastwood’s HEREAFTER. It will then make its way down to Austin for the US premiere of the film.

Of the announcement, Reeves said, “We are truly honored that Fantastic Fest has chosen to open their festival with the U.S. premiere of Let Me In. It is incredibly exciting to be able to present the film to an audience who I know are just as passionate about John Ajvide Linqvist’s story as I am.”

Fantastic Fest organizers are already whipping up some special posters for the screening so be sure to look out for those. We’ll have JoBlo staff dispatched to both events so keep an eye out for our coverage!
