Netflix has announced that Billboard chart topper Post Malone has been added to the cast of WONDERLAND, an upcoming mystery drama from director Peter Berg (LONE SURVIVOR, COLLATERAL) that finds an ex-felon named Spenser returning to Boston's criminal underworld to unravel a twisted murder conspiracy. Alongside the addition of the Syracuse-born rapper, Variety reports that Alan Arkin (ARGO, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE), Iliza Shlesinger (PARADISE, FOREVER 31), Bookem Woodbine (SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, THE ROCK) and James DuMont (SPEED, JURASSIC WORLD) have also joined the ensemble cast led by BOOGIE NIGHTS and THE FIGHTER star Mark Wahlberg. Also set to star in WONDERLAND is BLACK PANTHER's Winston Duke, who recently made a splash in Marvel's Wakandian adventure as M'Baku, leader of the Jabari tribe.

The screenplay for WONDERLAND, which is set to be penned by Sean O'Keefe (GODSEND, THE GREEN HORNET), is based off the novel Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland by author Ace Atkins. The book serves as an installment of Atkins' Spenser series – named for the fictional character who leads a collection of detective novels originally written by Robert B. Parker, which later changed hands to become Atkin's acclaimed property. Amazingly enough, the Spenser character has been featured in a total of 48 novels to date, all of which have found their place among other great New York Times best sellers.

WONDERLAND will mark Malone's first acting role, as well as the fifth collaborative effort between Wahlberg and Berg, who in the past have teamed for such films as LONE SURVIVOR, PATRIOTS DAY and MILE 22. We'll be sure to bring you more details as WONDERLAND comes together. In the meantime, if you're interested in checking out Post Malone's muscial chops, the tattooed phenom just released a new music video for his track "Better Now," which you can vide for yourself by clicking here
