Millie Bobby Brown to produce and star in Enola Holmes Mysteries film series

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As STRANGER THINGS alum Millie Bobby Brown's star continues to rise, Deadline has exclusively announced that Legendary Entertainment has struck a deal with the Emmy-nominated actress to star in and produce a feature film series based on Nancy Springer's ENOLA HOLMES MYSTERIES novel series.

Straight up, this is exciting news! I flapped my gums for days back in 2006, about how this creative and creepy series should be made into a film franchise, after reading the first book in the series The Case of the Missing Marquess. The series reaches across six novels, each centered around mysteries investigated by Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ much younger sister, Enola, who herself is a highly skilled detective worthy of her family's storied namesake.

Brown, who fostered a tight relationship with Legendary while completing work on TRICK 'R TREAT director Michael Dougherty's GODZILLA sequel, will work beside Alex Garcia and Ali Mendes to see the project through at Legendary.

You guys, I am so stoked for this! The Enola Holmes Mysteries is a fantastic series for young readers (and those of us who don't mind shopping the young adult section for a bit of literary escapism), and Millie is the perfect choice to play the up-and-coming female super sleuth. This is going to be a project to watch, as it has the potential to please fans of franchises such as HARRY POTTER, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, THE SISTERS GRIMM, and much more!
