Despite the fact that every movie they’ve made since I’M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA! has been exponentially worse, the Wayans brothers are trucking on with yet another “comedy.” Rogue Pictures has signed on to produce SUPER BAD JAMES DYNOMITE, a Wayans comedy that will star Marlon Wayans. The film is based on a comic I’ve never heard of that apparently the Wayans conceived (Marlon and brother Shawn wrote the script). The film will star Marlon as the title character, a 70s-era blaxploitation antihero who gets sent away to jail and is released in present day. While the times have changed, Dynomite has not and must adapt his pimpy persona to the new millenium. Seriously, if you want to see a Wayans movie that deals with blaxploitation comedy, just watch the aforementioned SUCKA. It’s actually hilarious. Probably due to the fact that Marlon and Shawn only have walk-on roles. Filming is scheduled to begin later this year with elder brother Keenan directing.
More Wayans. Yay.
