Movies for 120 hours?

Ever sit around on your ass some weekend afternoon just watching movie after movie on TV thinking to yourself, “I could do this for the next 120 hours.” Well then you could be a champion my friend! Netflix announced yesterday the Netflix Movie Watching World Championship where contestants will battle to see who can sit in Times Square and watch movies for the longest amount of time. The Guinness Book of World Records will be in attendance to see if the current record of 120 hours and 23 minutes can be broken. The rules require contestants to watch films non-stop without averting their eyes from the screen for as long as possible. You can sit, stand or stretch during the movie as long as you don’t take your eyes off the screen. Competitors will be given 10 minute breaks between each movie to take a leak, wash their face, catch a cat nap or whathaveyou. The winner will receive $10,000 in cash, a lifetime subscription to Netflix and a giant trophy (and assuming you beat the world record – a spot in Guinness).

So wanna find out how you can enter? Just head to this Facebook page and upload a video of yourself showing how you plan on training for the event (obviously the more entertaining the better). You should also block off the week of October 2 – October 7 so you can sit in a giant glass box in Times Square and watch movies. Other than that, good luck!
