UPDATED: New action-packed TV spot for Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer
UPDATE: Added the new character poster of Ruth Wilson to the mix. Scroll down to check it out!
I keep forgetting that THE LONE RANGER is coming out with all the superhero and sci-fi pics on the way helping to cloud it from my view. But, each time I'm reminded I get a bit more excited. As a kid, I watched the 1981 film, THE LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER, over and over again, which prompted a few Halloween costumes and an affinity for six-shooters. The updated version from PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN (and THE RING) helmer Gore Verbinski, starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as THE LONE RANGER/John Reid looks like a blast. It's got plenty of the character staples we've come to associate with the brand and some updated costumes to take it out of the Saturday morning serials and into the feature film realm. In short, this is a for sure theater view for me and my fingers are crossed that it kicks enough ass to merit a franchise.
Today, we have a new TV spot that is chock full of action; explosions, shootouts, train crashes, etc. The mega-budgeted pic from producer Jerry Bruckheimer has endured a tough trail to get here and thus far it looks like a lot of that effort (and money) paid off.
Here it is, kemosabe:
|Extra Tidbit:||Armie Hammer; set to explode or implode?|
