New extended trailer for D.J. Caruso’s I Am Number Four is now online

So there’s a new I AM NUMBER FOUR trailer out, and I’m curious to see if it does anything at all to sway your opinions on what’s been revealed to us thus far. The consensus so far seems to be that it looks like regurgitated Hollywood fare and that who the hell really buys the chiseled, blue-eyed/blonde-haired, model-looking hunk as being “one of us”?

The new ‘extended’ trailer basically recuts the last one and inserts quite a bit more new footage, changes the music up a bit, and establishes a somewhat different tone particularly towards the end. Is it enough, though?

I AM NUMBER FOUR opens February 18, 2011. Catch the trailer below or see it in full HD over at Apple.

Synopsis: Three are dead. He is Number Four. D.J. Caruso helms an action-packed thriller about an extraordinary young man, John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), who is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events—his first love (Dianna Agron), powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny. John is an extraordinary young man, masking his true identity and passing as a typical student to elude a deadly enemy seeking to destroy him. Three like him have already been killed… he is Number Four.
