Pelham trailer!

02.13.2009
100%

Without the benefit of stars like Denzel Washington and John Travolta and the directing skills of Tony Scott, I probably wouldn't give a remake of THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123 much thought. Watching the new trailer it doesn't seem like the kind of thriller that we haven't seen before (and obviously so as this is a remake of a cult classic). Yet I can't say that I count myself out of this at all. Something in this trailer makes me thing that while this might not be the most original movie in the history of cinema, it could certainly be quite entertaining. I mean Denzel is going to stop the bad guys and pick up milk on the way home! Check out the trailer below or head to Yahoo! Movies to see it in HD and let me know if I'm crazy on this one...

Better than I expected

I might actually give this one a look when it hits theatres. Could be a bit of fun.

Also, is it just me, or has there been a big-ass increase in the number of movies with cars doing barrel rolls since Die Hard 4 came out?

I'll without a doubt wait for the dvd.. it looks like something that'll be on late night tv in a couple years.

Was it just me or was anybody else completely caught off guard with that stupid "milk" line? lol

I'm not impressed. Tony Scott is hit or miss, mostly miss lately and Travolta just doesn't do it for me. I seriously don't think I've liked him in a role since FACE/OFF.

Awesome!!

I'm excited as hell to see this, the trailer looks great. I watched the original the other night and enjoyed that and with this one having denzel, travolta, and directed by Tony Scott this jumped up on my most inticipated list.

Tony Scott Forever!

I've been a fan of Tony Scott ever since I've had the ability to push in a VHS tape in the VCR and I will be there opening night for this. I love hostage films and when you throw in talent such as Scott, Washington and Travolta...you've got a possible big-hit on your hands.

Unfortunately back to the "old" Tony again (Man on Fire was his masterpiece). Why doesn't he keep his Domino style. That would make any movie by him better than anything else out there. Ah well. Still fucking awesome.
The "classic" was pathetic as hell, and the story itself is pretty bad and boring (no threat at all), so I can't wait to see it with actual good images and actors and a more interesting approach (as it seams in the trailer).

true

Crimson Tide was great but I hated Man on fire. The camera filter and the quick cuts made me sick. This looks like a solid flick again. Typical hostage negociation movie...
