People vs Lucas poster | Movie News
A documentary called THE PEOPLE vs. GEORGE LUCAS is currently in the works, and will feature interviews with various STAR WARS fans (including our renowned honcho JoBlo himself!) as they elucidate their relationships with the franchise from a galaxy far, far away.
Despite the title, the movie plans to address the various issues surrounding the series and offer a balanced argument between supporters and those with fluctuating or fading faith in the Force, and will no doubt feature countless mentions of the phrase "raped my childhood". You can find out more at the official site, but here's a glimpse at the teaser poster.

Thankfully, Spielberg lacks that kind of arrogance and is willing to take his lumps. That's probably part of the reason why his movies are so good (besides his eye for talent and gift for directing).

Why shouldn't fans complain about the DVD transfers of the original Star Wars trilogy (that is, NOT the "Special Editions")...they were, in a word, appalling (which says a lot about the disdain, if not outright hostility, that Lucas has towards the fans and films that made him a success in the first place).

i think lucas is a horrible filmmaker and im convinced he stole the star wars concept from someone else and made it his own and he got lucky that the star wars universe became so popular after the first movie and he capilatized on it
everything he was conceptually responsible for was pure shit (ex: Howard the Duck)

everything he was conceptually responsible for was pure shit (ex: Howard the Duck) and the fact that he insisted to write the scripts and to direct the 2nd star wars trilogy is ridiculous and proves hes greedy
hes a hack and he doesnt deserve to have so so many people who like star wars and shell money for that shit
spielberg is a true director, lucas is nothing

In fact, quite the opposite. These movies were a crushing disappointment to me even though I went to each expecting the absolute WORST.

In fact, quite the opposite. These movies were a crushing disappointment to me even though I went to each expecting the absolute WORST.
Why did I expect the worst? Well, as far as I'm concerned, Lucas hasn't been involved in the production of a decent movie since '81.
Let's face it, "A Very Muppet Star Wars" (or, Episode VI) was, at best, just Episode IV remade (another Death Star?!?) as a Muppet Movie...and was, at worst, just an overlong excuse to sell toys (how else to explain why seemingly every other person on the face of the planet knows what an Ewok is, despite the fact that the word itself is never ONCE uttered in the actual movie?).
And I didn't like either of the Indiana Jones sequels. Sorry, not even "The Last Crusade." Seriously, remove Connery and what do you have? A bland girlie? An unmemorable baddie? Sallah and Brody reduced to bumbling caricatures of their former selves? A finale (with the comic-relief knight) that seems to be a deleted scene from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"?
And I positively loathed the "Special Editions" of IV, V and VI. (It's like airbrushing eyebrows onto the Mona Lisa; the additions may be, technically, correct...but the mediums, and artistry, don't match.)
So, yeah, I went to see "Phantom Menace" with the lowest expectations imaginable...and I was STILL disappointed. Shit jokes? Fart jokes? The Force reduced to being some sort of fungus of the blood? Hell, even the wonkiest fan-fictions couldn't've come up with anything THAT stupid.
And, yes, I'll be approaching "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" with cold dread in my heart 'cause, like Kevin Bacon in "Animal House," I just keep stupidly bending over and saying, "Thank you, Sir! May I have another?"
Sigh.
