Revisit Peter Jackson’s Middle-Earth films in The Hobbit Legacy trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

In just a couple of weeks, the final chapter in Peter Jackson‘s epic journeys to Middle Earth will hit theaters. Some fans will be thanking Sauron that the series is over while the majority will be bittersweet in knowing that the LORD OF THE RINGS big screen tale is complete (assuming he doesn’t decide to make THE SILMARILLION).

in anticipation of these final weeks, a new trailer has been released that cuts together highlights from THE LORD OF THE RINGS and the first two HOBBIT films before giving us a tease at the massive battles coming in THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES. Whether you think THE HOBBIT should have been only two films, or even only one, you have to admit there is a grandeur on display here rarely achieved in most films. Peter Jackson may have gone overboard with the CGI and the 48fps, but he still has an eye for movie-making rarely equaled.

Some may say this trailer is a blatant effort to try and woo those LORD OF THE RINGS fans on the fence about the new movie, but this is a well cut preview that also teases how epic it would be to watch all six movies in a marathon. Can you imagine sitting through all of that walking?

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES opens on December 17th.
