The Midnight Man, starring Robert Englund and Lin Shaye, gets a trailer

Back in March of 2016, it was announced that frequent co-stars Robert Englund and Lin Shaye would be starring together in another movie – this one THE MIDNIGHT MAN, from CABIN FEVER remake director Travis Z (or Zariwny).

THE MIDNIGHT MAN is a remake itself, being based on Rob Kennedy's 2013 Irish film MIDNIGHT MAN, which was inspired by a Pagan ritual called "The Midnight Game".

This version of the story stars Gabrielle Haugh as

Alex, a typical teenage girl who lives with her sick grandmother, Anna (Shaye). While searching through the attic, Alex finds directions to a game, which played properly, will awaken “The Midnight Man”, an evil being who will make your worst nightmare come true. At first, Alex and her friends think the game is harmless fun. It is — until The Midnight Man comes to play… for real. When Dr. Goodberry (Englund) comes to the house to check on Anna, he can sense The Midnight Man’s presence, and warns the kids that when The Midnight Man comes to play, he plays to win.

The titular Midnight Man is played by Kyle Strauts. Also in the cast are Grayson Gabriel, Keenan Lehmann, Meredith Rose, Michael Sirow, and Summer H. Howell.

Nearly two years after we first (and last) heard about THE MIDNIGHT MAN, Voltage Pictures has released a trailer for the film online. That trailer can be seen below, and it looks like the movie could provide some decent supernatural fun. I didn't like Travis Z's take on CABIN FEVER at all, but I'm willing to give this one a chance.
