Minds Eye Entertainment has made a deal with the folks at Barco Escape to produce six films for the company's special tri-screen, panoramic cinematic presentation format, which is described as "the ultimate immersive cinema experience". The first film to come out of that deal is THE RECALL, a sci-fi thriller that finds Wesley Snipes caught up in an alien invasion.

On June 2nd, THE RECALL will be released exclusively in theatres that have Barco Escape screens. Two weeks later, on June 16th, there will be a limited release on regular theatre screens. The film will also be hitting VOD at that time.

Directed by Mauro Borrelli from a screenplay by Reggie Keyohara III and Sam Acton, THE RECALL centers on

a group of friends vacationing at a remote cabin lake house when aliens attack Earth.

Snipes plays a character called The Hunter and is joined in the cast by RJ Mitte, Jedidiah Goodacre, Niko Pepaj, Laura Maria Bilgeri, and Hannah Rose May.

Snipes heaped praise on the Barco Escape experience during an appearance at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, saying

This is a wonderful experience. The format will demand actors to bring a lot more to the table. You are going to have to work as an ensemble, as you do in theater. I think the audience is going to love it."

He also said that he plans to develop more projects for the format, including documentaries, educational content, and a film that he described as "BLADE on steroids".

Minds Eye also teamed up with SkyVR to create a 12 minute virtual reality experience called THE RECALL ABDUCTION, which will make its debut on June 2nd as well.

There are no Barco Escape screens near me and I know nothing about VR, but it sounds like some viewers are going to be having a good time watching THE RECALL in a special format and experiencing its VR tie-in.
