This clip from Ted introduces us to a little something called mind rape

100%

TED intrigues me. It shouldn't work. The movie should not exist. Nothing about it should work as a film and yet the trailer makes me laugh every single time I see it. All of Seth MacFarlane's shows have the same problem; they should not work and yet they go to all kinds of wrong places which make me laugh and therefore bring me in for future viewings. The film snob inside of me cringes and yet the movie fan gets excited.

This new clip from TED brings together everything that should not work about this movie that simultaneously functions to make it work. Here we have Ted (Seth MacFarlane) telling his best friend John (Mark Wahlberg) about a new weed called "mind rape." But, don't worry, it is "pretty mellow."

If that didn't make you laugh, then this is obviously not going to be the movie for you. For everyone else, get excited for TED because it hits theaters this Friday, June 29th.

Extra Tidbit: Of all the Seth MacFarlane shows, I personally prefer AMERICAN DAD.

How could you NOT want a childhood toy like Ted to come to life. The guy is a fucking party animal. "Hey Ted pack us another cone will ya...... There's a good bear".

Reminds me of Wilfred

The clip made me laugh though, Wahlberg is funny given the right material

er...what clip?

Don't know if it's just me or the new fancy web site layout but I can't see where the clip mentioned in the headline is.

Um, why shouldn't this concept work as a film? Not sure how you're coming to that conclusion. The premise alone is really funny. It easily sets up the, "30-something guy doesn't want to grow up, but has to learn to let go of his childhood." cliche. All you need is a funny writer (McFarlane) and a decent cast and you're good to go.
