The wait is over! It's seemed like forever that a WATCHMEN movie has been in development but today we actually get our first look at an actual WATCHMEN movie! And it looks awesome! Empire Magazine had the exclusive but it seems their website couldn't hold up the traffic so for now we'll consider this a mirror and as soon as their exclusive goes back up, we'll redirect the link back to their version. Remember that you'll be able to see this attached to all prints of THE DARK KNIGHT tomorrow. As awesome as it looks on the web, imagine how sweet it will be in theaters? Check it out below!

Some of the SFX I'm not too sold on. I'm sure this is just early footage and they'll continue to improve on it. It just has that cool look, just like what you'd expect it to look like.

Having read the graphic novel, I'm excited by the prospect of a largely faithful adaptation, which by the looks of this, appears to nail the overall aesthetic. Looking forward to how they introduce the world and characters to those unfamiliar with the source material in future trailers

1. some of the backgrounds - not including the final shot - look too cartoony. CGI backgrounds blow.
2. Zack Snyder uses that fast-to-slow motion effect way too often, and I find it irritating.
Other than that, looks pretty cool.
