WB acquires action-adventure spec script from John Krasinski and Oren Uziel

Dec. 17, 2013by: Jesse Giroux

Deadline has learned John Krasinski and Oren Uziel have sold an untitled spec script for an action-adventure movie to Warner Bros. The project will be set up at Krasinski's Sunday Night Productions banner, with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon producing through their Pearl Street Films. John Krasinski previously teamed up with Matt Damon on the script for last year's PROMISED LAND. Oren Uziel wrote the screenplay for the upcoming humans vs. vampires vs. zombies comedy THE KITCHEN SINK, and he also helped write next year's 22 JUMP STREET.

Unfortunately, there aren't any details on the plot for their planned film. It also isn't clear if John Krasinski will star in the film it as well. Oren Uziel's THE KITCHEN SINK sounds hilarious, and I'm very interested in finding out if there's a reason why Warner Bros. isn't telling us more about the plot for Krasinski and Uziel's spec script.

Nice guy

I met Krasinkski and Blunt at a Promised Land screening. Nicest guy in the world. Though not much of an actor. He IS Jim Harper. That "Mm, nope" thing he does when nervous on the show? Does it in real life, too. I'd say he's a better writer than he is an actor.

Krasinski may be one of the least likeable actors I've ever seen.

I liked him fair enough on The Office in its first few seasons, but the emphasis on his character was one of the big reasons that it hugely suffered in later seasons (particularly after Carrell's departure). He's smarmy and douchey in everything I see him in - even those voice-over insurance commercials he does annoy me. I'll take a big pass on this one.

Always good to see original scripts still getting made, even if takes one of the writers being a famous actor to get there.

I really like Promised Land so this might turn out good.

Huge fan of Krasinski. I think he's very talented (acting, writing, directing) and hope to see him in more films. Still hoping he gets considered to play the Flash in Justice League.
