Zhang Ziyi is Waiting

Zhang Ziyi (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON) is set to star in WAITING, a movie based on the National Book Award-winning novel. The story is about a doctor in the Revolutionary Army, trapped in an arranged marriage, who falls in love with a nurse. I presume that Zhang will play the nurse, since otherwise the flick would be completely unbelievable. Like you could be married to her and want out. Plans for the film began in 2001, when Chow Yun Fat was in line to star, but since then the whole production has taken a new approach and is looking at Zhang and the mantastic Takeshi Kaneshiro (HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS) to headline.

Zhang Ziyi does for Asian cinema what Anne Frank did for hiding shit. And she does it just by being hot. She can’t speak English worth a dime but even when she looks like she’s having a heart attack just trying to say ‘apple’ in RUSH HOUR 2 I’m mesmerized. I’ll watch this chick in anything.
