Bryan Singer’s X-Men TV series releases a teaser and reveals its title

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

After being suitably intrigued by the promo's for Legion, I had meant to check out the FX series upon its debut this February, but for whatever reason, I didn't get around to it. After some prompting by our own Steve Seigh, I finally dived into the series last month and was relived to find that it is indeed possible to produce a kick-ass TV series set in the X-MEN universe. This also places the bar for any subsequent X-MEN series awfully high, which could be bad news for The Gifted, Fox's upcoming X-MEN TV series. Starring Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Amy Acker (Person of Interest), The Gifted follows "two ordinary parents who discover that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive." A short teaser trailer for the series has just been released, check it out!

A little too early to pass judgement, but after Legion, I'm willing to give it a chance. The Gifted was created by Burn Notice's Matt Nix and the pilot episode was directed by none other than Bryan Singer (X-MEN: APOCALYPSE) himself. The series also stars Jamie Chung, Sean Teale, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, John Proudstar and Percy Hynes White. The full trailer will arrive on May 15th, so I'd imagine that we'll get a much better look at what The Gifted is all about.

What are your thoughts on this short glimpse into The Gifted?
